Everyone gets excited when faced with a bucket of their favorite colors. There’s so much your mind can create or recreate just thinking about it. Painting can be done on any surface ranging from paper to canvas to walls.
I get excited whenever I see movies with some painting scenes. Be it color spray, oil paints, water paints, emulsion, name it. I’m excited talking about this trust me. And to be honest, painting can be stress relieving! No wonder grey days can easily get you worked out mentally. So, if you’re excited as I am, that’s a good thing cause, we’re going to learn how to choose beautiful pallets and the ways to apply them.
Have you ever imagined a color pallet for your painting project and you were excited with the hue choices but then the outcome was not giving? It totally ruined your work and your excitement right? That’s why some people don’t paint.
Well, this piece is not to get you to start painting again or give your childhood dream a shot (which is great by-the-way) but to get you to understand colors. Whatever you decide to do after that, I wish you luck.
There’s a thing called color psychology and this is simply understanding each colors and how it works. Studies have shown that colors tend to affect or determine people’s emotion either positively or negatively. Colors are important factors in interior designing due to its general effect on our mental health. Have you noticed that there are colors used for animations? The colors used for horror movies makes you get the goose bumps. Red is always used for danger signs, hospitals have the light greens or blues etc.

Quite of recent like two years ago, I found out about my new affinity towards the brown hue. It generally makes me think of caramel and the color of honey (which is the only thing I like about honey). I like how earthen it is and it naturally makes me think about the beach so I guess I can say it speaks to me. What palette speaks to you personally? Let me know in the comment section.
